While America's Favorite Pastime has changed over the years both on and off the field, it's still the game so many of us love. Youth baseball (thankfully) still has the innocence, joy, and love of the game that I remember up until I played my last game in high school. And at the same time some kids are ready for more - more speed, more strength, more agility and flexibility training to prevent injury and learn other aspects of the game besides hitting and fielding.
Here's what one parent of a current player reported:
"Hans, our coach couldn't believe how much stronger my son is from last season to this, and that's a testament to this class and all the hard work he's put in this off-season."
At In Pursuit Fitness Training we offer strength and conditioning for athletes in 5th-8th grade who want to get stronger, faster, or just maintain their fitness. The primary purpose of this class is to teach the fundamentals of strength and conditioning, starting with great technique and a thorough understanding of how we get stronger and how we should train. Throughout the process we teach the athletes about sportsmanship, work ethic, nutrition, and how to enjoy being a well-rounded athlete.
Summer sessions of Strength and Conditioning run M/W or T/Th at 1:30. Class is one hour and consists of a warm-up, 20 minutes of strength training and 20 minutes of conditioning. Class size is currently limited to six participants and other sections may open up if the first two reach capacity.
