My First 5k
This June we are challenging you to run your first 5k! Running is a great way to get and stay in shape and summer is the perfect time to do it. Over the years my running has been all over the board: 5k, half and full marathons, triathlon, and running for general fitness. It's always great to come back to the classic 5k because it's so achievable - let's get started!
Each week we will have two runs for you to complete. At the end of the month you'll be able to run a 5k and we'd love to host it here at In Pursuit in downtown Oregon, so drop me a note that you're training!
Week of June 3:
Mid-week run: 0.5 miles
Weekend run: 1.0 mile
Week of June 10:
Mid-week run: 1.0 mile
Weekend run: 1.5 mile
Add some light stretching after each run. Work the hamstrings, quads, and calves.
Don't overthink this running program - two days per week is just enough to get to that 5k. But if you need a few extra tips or adjustments to your training, please reach out.
