In Pursuit is for Anyone (but not for everyone)

In Pursuit Fitness Training isn't for everyone, but I can make it for anyone for a few reasons.

TLDR; lift heavy, move fast, and start training or the conversation by emailing Hans.

What is it like to train at In Pursuit?

1. Lift heavy

2. Move fast

3. Perfect progressions to keep things interesting and feel results.

Lift heavy:

"Lifting heavy" is relative but you will quickly see that you can lift more than you think, and that is the point. Most people don't lift heavy enough. Make no mistake, this is not body building. But if you want to preserve your muscle mass as an older adult, you need to train for that challenge now.

A few examples:

1. I want everyone to deadlift and squat their body weight

2. I want women to be able to carry 75% of their body weight for one minute. I want men to be able to carry 100% of their body weight for one minute.

3. I want everyone to be able to complete three sets of ten push-ups (not from knees).

4. Strength training should happen three days per week, not always heavy but working towards our benchmarks listed above.

Move fast:

"Moving fast" means it's difficult. At times you can't hold a conversation, at times it means you can't even complete a sentence. Are we trying to win a marathon or a triathlon or make the Olympics? We are not. But moving fast (in the gym) opens up so many other options and benefits in life.

A few examples:

1. Sprinting isn't just for the high school kids.

2. Interval training is your friend. I work in rests with a purpose: to get more out of you in the intervals.

3. Moving fast isn't always about running or biking... moving fast also includes dumbbells, medicine balls, and even barbells. Oh, and we still jump rope like we did as kids.

Perfect progressions:

My goal is not to make everyone the same. We may do the same workout but we all may do it a little differently. Personal training doesn't mean you have a workout that is necessarily different from another client. It means the strength training and the conditioning pieces are tailored to your exact and specific needs to get faster and stronger.

In Pursuit is not for everyone, but if you are someone who wants to be faster and stronger, let's chat about that process.
