Introducing IP Athlete

Most athletes have experienced highs and lows, successes and failures, connections and confusions in various seasons of their fitness journey. I know this about you because it’s true for me. We know our goals but the plan, the time, the teamwork, or the consistency fall short. If we could find a program with a great coach who made us feel welcomed yet challenged, personal yet part of a team, we could pursue our health and fitness with less questions and failures, more successes and connections.

IP Athlete is that program. IP Athlete is built on my personal training philosophy and is built with the programming that’s helped my clients reach their fitness goals. I believe: (a) my programming here at the gym is best in class, but (b) personal training isn’t for everyone, (c) getting to the gym also isn’t ideal or possible for everyone, and (d) free and random workouts on YouTube and Instagram aren’t effective or sustainable.

I’ve created a monthly workout program you can do at home or at a gym using the three pieces of equipment I believe are the perfect start to a home gym - a suspension trainer like TRX, a set of dumbbells, and a jump rope... but more on that later.

IP Athlete is available on an app called SugarWOD. Once you create a free account and join “In Pursuit Fitness Training”, you’ll have access to our body-weight program called ‘workout of the day.’ Within a week or once you’ve messaged me through the app, I’ll give you access to IP Athlete to try for two weeks while your equipment arrives and you learn to navigate SugarWOD. Each week has five workouts programmed with Thursdays and Sundays being rest days. For $20 per month you’ll have best-in-class programming including coaching tips, movement demonstrations and progressions. You can expect what my clients get here at the gym: strength and conditioning with lots of variety and intensity. A bonus with SugarWOD is the community and competition: athletes score their workouts, they give fist bumps when they see other great efforts, and we all compete for the leaderboard or for personal best.

We all approach our fitness with different struggles, motivations, and overall experiences. I believe athletes engages more when they:

* have a little skin in the game
* invest in their own (minimal) equipment
* can see their progress
* have an opportunity to encourage others who are trying to score the same workout.

This is healthy community in pursuit of fitness. For IP Athlete it starts with a minimal investment in your home gym. It starts with a suspension trainer; I love TRX but any variation will absolutely work. These straps are very portable and provide a whole body workout. Next is a simple jump rope that offers great conditioning and is obviously easy to travel with. Lastly a medium-weight set of dumbbells opens up some strength training to the program; resistance training is the number one component missing in most people’s workout routines. Building a home gym is one way I equip athletes to take ownership of their fitness. My goal is to guide people to a healthy lifestyle by coaching, educating, motivating, and challenging you to your personal best.

If you’re ready to join the In Pursuit team, download SugarWOD and I'll help you log your first workout.
